The 12th edition of the Brazilian Congress of Black Researchers, COPENE presents: The power of black culture in the anti-racist struggle and for democracy!
From September 11th to 16th, Recife will host the 12th edition of the Brazilian Congress of Black Researchers, COPENE. The event aims to bring together intellectuals, teachers, researchers, and students from various academic institutions from all regions of Brazil and Latin America, social movement activists, and foreign guests.

The power of black culture in the anti-racist struggle and for democracy is the theme of the artistic attractions of Pernambuco that will compose the opening and closing of the event.
About:
The Afoxé Oyá Alaxé @oyaalaxe was founded in 2004, in the Dois Unidos neighborhood, Recife-PE, as a manifestation of Afro-Brazilian culture based on the precepts of Candomblé Nagô. It is 18 years of struggle and resistance strongly influenced by ancestral women guardians of popular and Afro-diasporic culture.
